I Am Still Learning - A Poem
Life can appear cruel
In its neutral passage
Present to our every wish, whim or fancy
Witness to our hopes and our loss
A disinterested benefactor and provider
Remaining neutral to the effects of ours or others choices
I am still learning to understand you
Your laws in which your governance holds
The laws my freedom is contained within
Laws of healing
Laws of balance
Laws of abundance
Laws of love
The law of consequence
And the laws of constant change
I am still learning
And it can feel hardest when Disappointment colours my perspective
And yet here you are again
In your neutral, encouraging, magnificence
Inviting me and all to turn
To another day
And feel the constant
Complete, Irrefutable force of life
That will carry me forward
No matter what may have happened
Yesterday.
For this I am grateful
Another law
I am learning
To help me navigate
My way back to you.
